COOKIE NOTICE

Last updated: December 5, 2019 Nebula Scientific, Inc, Nebula Scientific Limited, and Nebula Scientific Hong Kong Limited (“NEBULA”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), along with our third party service providers, may use “cookies” (data files placed on a device when it is used to visit www.Nebulascientific.com (“the “Site”)) and other tracking technologies, including web beacons/GIFs and embedded scripts on our Site (all referred to hereafter as, “Cookies”).

WHAT IS A COOKIE?

Cookies are small text files which are sent to your device when you visit a website. Cookies are then sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognizes that cookie. Cookies act as a memory for a website, allowing that website to remember your device on your return visits. Cookies can also remember your preferences, improve the user experience as well as tailor the advertisements you see to those most relevant to you. Cookies set by NEBULA are called “first party cookies”. Cookies set by parties other than NEBULA are called “third party cookies”. Third party cookies enable third party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website (e.g. like advertising, interactive content and analytics). The parties that set these third party cookies can recognize your computer both when it visits the website and also when it visits certain other websites.

WHY DO WE USE COOKIES?

You can find more information about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set on your device and how to manage and delete them at www.aboutcookies.org.

HOW WE USE COOKIES

We may use Cookies for a variety of purposes and to enhance your online experience. Some cookies are required for technical reasons in order for our Site to operate, and we refer to these as “essential” or “strictly necessary” cookies. Other cookies also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our Site. Third parties serve cookies through our Site for advertising, analytics and other purposes. This is described in more detail below.

WHAT ABOUT OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES, LIKE WEB BEACONS?

As described above, Cookies are not the only way to recognize or track visitors to a website. We may use other, similar technologies from time to time, like web beacons (sometimes called “tracking pixels” or “clear gifs”). These are tiny graphics files that contain a unique identifier that enable us to recognize when someone has visited our Site. This allows us, for example, to monitor the traffic patterns of users from one page within our Websites to another, to deliver or communicate with cookies, to understand whether you have come to our Websites from an online advertisement displayed on a third-party website, to improve site performance, and to measure the success of e-mail marketing campaigns. In many instances, these technologies are reliant on cookies to function properly, and so declining cookies will impair their functioning.

HOW TO CONTROL AND DELETE COOKIES

You can choose whether to accept the use of Cookies and we have explained how we can exercise your rights, as follows:

The majority of web browsers accept cookies, but you can usually change the web browser’s settings to refuse new cookies, disable existing ones or simply let you know when new ones are sent to your device. In order to do this, follow the instructions provided by your browser (usually located within the “Help”, “Tools” or “Edit” facility). However, please be aware that, if you refuse or disable cookies, some of the website’s functionality may be lost. In addition, disabling a cookie or category of cookie does not delete the cookie from your browser, you will need to do this yourself from within your browser.

You may opt out of additional third party advertising networks by going to the Your Online Choices at http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/opt-out-help and following the directions there.  The effect of opting out of third party advertising networks is explained on each opt out page.  Note that for some sites, the effect of opting out of third party advertising means that customized advertising will not be delivered to you.  Information regarding your usage of the online services may still be collected for research, analytics or internal operations purposes.

You can also learn more about cookies by visiting https://ico.org.uk/for-the-public/online/cookies,  which includes additional useful information on cookies and how to block cookies using different types of browsers.

HOW OFTEN WILL WE UPDATE THIS COOKIE NOTICE?

We may update this Cookie Notice from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. Please therefore re-visit this Cookie Notice regularly to stay informed about our use of cookies and related technologies. The date at the top of this Cookie Notice indicates when it was last updated.
